A small bite and a quick shower.. got a cab and rush to a middle of nowhere.
Had a two hours of conversation and getting the best bid. An option of glass of water or a glass of an orange juice. Have your pick.
It all started at 5pm, but in your world it was 9 in the evening. Do I have a choice? Of course, I do. Come to think of it, I could have retired my eyes on my bed at this point of time, but it is only 5 in the afternoon at my time zone. How pity.
Walked.
Yes, walked because it is rush hour and all the human beings are so tired and eager to take their back bones lay down on their beds. I assume you feel the same at the end of the day, right? Because we are only humans. We get tired.
Walked.
The only thing to get home is to walk. But at this point, I am walking out of nowhere. Perhaps because I am not familiar with the place. Indeed I am alien at this place, though, I am not afraid.
Walk. Keep still.
It is already an hour walking and we still cant find a way to get home. Kept on walking until we reached the big road. A high-way with a connecting bridge and cars rushing on both sides. At the other side of the bridge, it is the road towards home.
Walk. Keep still.
Looking at the scenario, IT IS VERY IMPOSSIBLE to get over and cross the bridge. We have no choice but to walk back again at the street. Do we really have no choice? We do. In fact our choice is just a phone call away. Funny.
Walk, but this time we are walking to wait and meet up my uncle. He was indeed a phone call away.
Inside the car, at the backseat, I realized that every step that I did has a purpose. Yes it was hot here, temperature is ranging from 40 to 46 degrees a day. You wouldnt imagine yourself outside with that heat wont you? Of course, again, you have a choice. But we chose to walk simply because we dont want to call and have us picked up. We thought we can manage to get a cab easily and go home quick. Things didnt turned out right, we ended up routing the street for more than an hour.
To sum it up, I had walked and gone through the day. It was a good one yet a dillema. I had to wait for a good bid. I will walk again tomorrow to check for the highest but fair bidding. Is it really necessary?
Still, it was a fun walk and a good day, right Peach?
Now I miss the coke float.
First one to comment on your blog! yay! come to think of it, we travel the road that are not “less traveled” many pinoy’s like us experienced the same faith (or maybe you already have but not me, at least not for now, hehe) but some gave up easily and just decided to throw in the towel. I must say that I’m proud of you ate jac, threading the road with the heat coming from the sun, and being patient while “peach” irons her clothes only to know that she won’t wear it (for god knows why) thinking that time is of the essence when you have an appointment. Only time will tell what fate comes before us, and even if time is not on our side, I know that we can still do this. It’s a bumpy ride considering that summer time is also a factor, but lets look at the bright side… it never rains in Dubai…
